PORTSMOUTH — A worker suffered a substantial leg fracture Thursday after falling from scaffolding at the Portsmouth Middle School construction site and dropping about 6 feet.Portsmouth fire Chief Steve Achilles said the department was notified about the accident at about 11:30 a.m. Two fire engines and an ambulance responded to the scene.They treated an approximately 50-year-old male construction worker, who had sustained a lower leg fracture, Achilles said. The man was transported in stable condition to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
